Four minutes is a reliable starting point. A coarser grind or larger batch may benefit from a little more time.
Start near 1:15 coffee to water by weight, then use 1:14 for stronger coffee or 1:16 for a lighter cup.
Try a coarser grind, slightly cooler water, or a shorter steep. Pour the coffee out after pressing.
